Definition
The country determined to be the economic origin of a product under the applicable origin rules.
In practical terms
Origin is not always the country from which goods are shipped. Manufacturing, transformation, materials, and trade-agreement rules can affect the determination.
Example
A product exported from a distribution hub may have a different country of origin based on where it was manufactured.
