Definition
A unique internal identifier assigned to a distinct product or inventory variation.
In practical terms
Separate sizes, colours, pack quantities, or configurations normally receive different SKUs. Consistent identifiers support inventory, ordering, picking, and reporting.
Example
A blue medium shirt has a different SKU from the same shirt in blue large.
