Definition
A picking method in which workers or equipment are assigned to specific warehouse areas.
In practical terms
Each zone handles its portion of an order, after which items are consolidated for packing. Zone picking can reduce travel and build product-specific expertise.
Example
One picker handles small parts while another handles bulky products for the same customer order.
