Definition
The person or organization that arranges or tenders goods for transportation.
In practical terms
The shipper supplies accurate shipment details, prepares the goods for transit, and may be responsible for documentation or export requirements. The shipper is not always the same party as the seller.
Example
An online retailer that hands a packed order to a courier is the shipper.
