Free Carrier (FCA)

Definition

An Incoterms rule under which the seller delivers goods to the buyer-nominated carrier or party at a named place.

In practical terms

FCA can be used with any transportation mode. The exact named place determines the delivery point, risk transfer, and which party handles loading at that point.

Example

The seller clears the goods for export and delivers them to the forwarder at a named terminal.
