The weight used to rate a shipment after applying the relevant comparison and rounding rules.
In practical terms
For many parcel and air shipments, chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight and dimensional weight. Other modes may use density, minimums, or shipment-specific rules.
Example
A carton weighs 12 kg on a scale and measures 16 kg dimensionally, making 16 kg the chargeable weight.
